Toni Parras is a communication consultant interested in helping organizations improve their efforts through sound communication and evaluation and exploring innovative approaches to creating awareness, influencing behavior and evaluating efforts. She has a particular interest in marine research, education, management and conservation.
Toni offers specialized communication services to a variety of clients, including foundations, nonprofit organizations, universities, government agencies and others. She provides strategic communication planning, research, evaluation, writing/editing, media support, video production, and training.
Toni has worked in dozens of countries with world-renowned scientists and leaders on topics ranging from seaweed farming to meteors. With an extensive background in film production, Toni has been involved with documentaries, educational films and webcasts for Animal Planet, Discovery Channel, National Geographic, ABC, NBC, the BBC, and others.
With a keen interest in raising public attention to marine issues, Toni has contributed to various exhibits to promote ocean awareness and conservation. She conceived the idea for “You, Me & the Sea,” an exhibit to educate people on the importance of the oceans in their daily lives, after years of scuba diving and photographing the undersea world, working in the marine field, and receiving requests for resources, classroom materials and school activities from colleagues around the world.
